Featuring Amelia and Vridd
Early Spring, Year 761 of the New Age
Glenmore, Glenwood

Vridd
The weather was finally starting to warm after so long being cold and drab on the plains. little shoots of grass were starting push their way towards the life-giving sun. Indeed, spring was upon them, and vridd couldn’t be more apprehensious and excited about it. There was the warming of the weather, bringing spring rains and blooming flowers. She was helping that process along at this very moment, her hown pointed downwards as she aided the growth of a small ground-vine with little red flowers that smelled sweet. It was rather amazing, indeed, watching the plant unfurl as if it were actually a loving creature. She was making them for Amelia, for what she planned to be a somewhat romantic evening for them. She hadn’t gotten anything specific planned, really, but she did want to let Amelia know just how much she loved her.
In light of recent events involving a certain and rather pushy stag, she had come to see just how insecure Amelia was about Vridd’s commitment to her, and the dark-coated doe was more than willing to make her certain of just how deeply in love with her Vridd was. She gently tugged the flowers from the ground, then, and started to look about for the lighter doe.

Amelia
Amelia hobbled and grunted, her stomach heavy with her incoming child by now. She knew any feisty actions on her part, like defending Vridd from arrogant stags, wouldn't be allowed sadly since she had to out her little fawn first. No matter how much it pained her to think of not being able to protect Vridd, not that the adorable little doe couldn't handle herself. Vridd had made it clear she could on a couple occasions. First with Amelia's mother and then with that self centered stag, Ratokaéon.
Just the thought of him sent her mood spiraling down from how high it had been while thinking of her future fawn and her beloved Vridd. With a slight shake of her head in an attempt to clear it so she could focus on the happier things in life, like how she could make a life with her fawn and Vridd as soon as it was born. Well, if Vridd still wanted to be with her after Amelia had given her the choice to go with the stag, which seemed to have been taken the wrong way. All she had wanted to do was make sure Vridd was happy, but it seemed to backfire a bit. Maybe she could make it up to her somehow in the near future, for say the next time they 'happened' to cross paths? More like when she actually found Vridd, for she was sort of seeking her out at the moment. Amelia, especially this late in her pregnancy, was feeling rather lonely and wanted to cling to Vridd when she got the chance.

Vridd
Vridd had her head in the air as she sniffed, searching for the scent of the fawnling that she was currently trying to find. One might think it would be easier to find someone in this lolling plain, but really it was rather difficult considering all the other bodies in the radius of her vision. Not to mention that several other does were heavy with child at this time of the year, their scents having the same undertone of child. Really it was rather confusing. Making certain to keep the flowers in her mouth green and bright, Vridd started to troy about, her head high as she watched for any sign of her love.
Suddenly, she caught sight of the beautiful doe, who looked slightly tired. Turning on her hooves, vridd put on a smile and trotted over, her tail swishing side to side as she walked. Coming up to Amelia, she slowed and, without a word, stuck the flowers between her teeth to sit just behind Amelia’s ear, adorning her head like a tiny crown. “Good morning.” she said softly. Hopefully she wasn’t overdoing it.

Amelia
Amelia couldn't help but smile upon seeing Vridd and the flowers, "good morning." The paler of the two moved a little closer quietly, hoping the other wouldn't notice her little attempts to become closer. As earlier stated she wanted to pretty much cling to the other doe, yet didn't want to get sent away for being clingy so she decided to try and do it subtly. The only problem with that was the fact that subtleness wasn't exactly her style, she'd much rather be straight forward most of the time. Only special occasions, such as when she told Vridd she was carrying a fawn, were enough to make Amelia 'beat around the bush'.
"I missed you," her voice came out rather quiet and she was glad for it. Being all emotional was still difficult to do after seasons and seasons of trying to hide as many emotions as she could, but she was doing a lot better than she had to start. Amelia's ears flattened to her head and she made another subtly attempt to bring them closer, though the three little words she had said made her anxious for a response. Did Vridd miss her too?

Vridd
Vridd was overcome with relief when Amelia seemed to adhere to her side, her hooves just barely brushing as they stood. She was tempted to intertwine their tails, but felt that the physical contact might make Amelia uncomfortable. After all, Amelia was the one that took action of the two of them. She was the one that initiated conversation, that started contact and that, more or less, spoke for them as a collective. Seeing her hesitate, even slightly, made Vridd keep herself in check so that she wouldn’t upset their careful balance that they had constructed so meticulously.
“I missed you too.” she answered, feeling a smile on her face that she hadn’t meant to happen. That was good, right? That she didn’t have to think about smiling? that it just so naturally came to her face when the other was around? And Indeed, she had missed her. Never before had she noticed the silence so profoundly when it wasn’t filled with Amelia’s voice, her breathing or even her heartbeat. A constant presence that she felt the need to cover herself in.

Amelia
It was odd and completely uncommon for Amelia to shy away from a conversation or doing some sort of action, but love just felt so strange to her and she had no past experiences to go off of. It didn’t help that Vridd wasn’t making any outright advances aside from quietly spoken words of shared love, but then again how could she blame her when she herself was practically scared to do anything in fear of being abandoned. Granted Amelia trusted Vridd to stay with her, but they almost seemed to be apart more than they were together and the anxiety and other emotions carrying the fawn brought made her a bit more scared of abandonment than normal.
As if it would make Vridd feel like she would want to stay longer, well that and the fact that she just wanted to try and be more affectionate and what reaction (hopefully a good one) it’d coerce from her beloved, the heavier doe hesitantly intertwined their tails. She almost felt like an infant fawn, with how shy and hesitant she was, and thinking of herself that way was despised, though she couldn’t seem to gather any more courage.

Vridd
Vridd had to take a few deep breaths as she observed the other fawnling. She ought not be so nervous, really, when she knew just how much the other loved her. In spite of their earlier interactions Vridd thought that, perhaps, it ought to be time to take action for herself. It seemed to her poor perception that Amelia was venerable, burned by some unseen evil that lurked on the weary plains. Her head tilted as Amelia shyly intertwined her tail with Vridd’s, and a small smile came to her face as she made up her mind.
Snaking her head carefully under Amelia’s, Vridd nuzzled the doe’s neck and made a soft sound, leaning into the other as gently and yet insistently as she could. After all, she couldn’t risk knocking her over. “How are you feeling?” she asked softly, her tail curling further around Amelia’s as if to embrace her with it. A few others that weren’t too preoccupied with themselves stared at the pair, but in that moment the doe’s dark eyes were fixed solely on her counterpart.

Amelia
The lighter doe seemed reassured by her darker companion practically encouraging the affection, which made her relax. It felt nice to have Vridd leaning on her while embracing their tails together. As far as the audience went she didn't let accusations start flying like she had in the past, then again her focus was solely on Vridd. Well, Vridd and trying not to fall over. The other doe wasn't the reason she was about to fall over, though it didn't help much. Carrying a fawn was a lot harder than she had anticipated, and it seemed to suck up all her energy.
"Very, very in love with you," came the response about how she was doing along with a shy little smile, instead of letting the other know how tired and almost drained she was feeling if Vridd couldn't already tell. It was an attempt to cover her more discouraging feelings such as feeling drained, but it was also an attempt to flatter her beloved Vridd.

Vridd
Vridd nickered and flicked her ears, her eyes softening as she smiled to the other. They swayed against each other in little motions, Vridd’s smaller form, for some reason, feeling steadier than Amelia’s own. She was carrying a lot of extra weight now that her due date was steadily creeping towards her. She had given up worrying about what might happen after the fawn was born. she was relatively sure that they would be perfectly fine, the fawn possibly getting them closer together, but there was really no point in worrying when it was going to happen anyways. The only thing that she could do was kill the fawn, and well that was just ridiculous.
“You flatter me.” she said softly, her ears tilting back as she blushed lightly. She was fairly sure that she would never get used to the compliments that the other paid to her on a daily basis.

Amelia
"I don't flatter you enough," Amelia whispered and her eyes slowly fluttred closed to enjoy the moment for as long as possible. There was no way she'd rather spend her time; with Vridd and her fawn. Well it'd be nice if it was born. And it wasn't just hers, the fawn would belong to the both of them. They could really have a family. Just the thought made her grin widen as they swayed, to caught up in the loving thoughts of her beloved Vridd and the unborn fawn to notice she was starting to hum a soft melody to the other.

Vridd
Vridd’s brows raised as the other dow began to, ever so softly, sing. She listened with eyes wide for a few moments before she closed her eyes and set the side of her head against Amelia's. Indeed, if looked as if they were trying to become one, all three of them. She smiled softly as the music encircled them, coating them and showing down. Softer than rain and warmer than snow, it blanketed their backs. As the song faded, Vridd’s eyes fluttered open and she felt as though she were falling, but in the good way. “You have a pretty voice.” she said, sounding weak, her voice cutting in and out as she spoke. She couldn’t quite believe that she had found this doe amongst all the others. Perhaps the Swan Goddess did look down upon her with favor after all. Perhaps it was the reason for her dark coat and her quiet ways- all to win over this doe who was so radiant that the entirety of the world paled in comparison to her beauty.

Amelia
"I might have a pretty voice, but you are so much more than pretty all around," came her quiet response as Amelia started humming another tune. Light melodies of nonsense that were so devoid of stress and the difficulties and worries that life enthralled. The lightly colored doe had had so many stressful, complicated things on her mind lately that it was nice to be able to focus of something so carefree as making up little melodies for her beloved companion or remembering the ones from her childhood. Well that and finding more ways to compliment and flatter Vridd kept her mind focused on something that wasn't stressful seeing as how Vridd just made her feel, well, in love and almost as if she could float on air.
Was it bad that she felt so giddy and like she was in top of the world when Vridd gave her one of those smiles?

Vridd
The doe looked down again, her face red as she simply listened to the music. Indeed, her voice as well as the little tunes that she sung wove into her mind a feeling of spring, reverberating through the air and sending soft chills through the other. Looking to Amelia, she blinked. “Amelia?” she asked so gently that her voice hardly worked. The music was powerful, after all, and had driven a stuffy feeling into her throat and a tight pulling her chest, though her mind was free and unbound. “How will… Moki?” she asked, hoping the meaning of the question was clear. She seemed rather unable to put things into words at the moment.

Amelia
"How will he what?" she responded without much thought as she continued to hum, practically nuzzling and cuddling up to the other doe as they swayed, with her mind oddly clear yet concentrated at the same time. Oh how nice it felt to love and be love instead trying to love and getting rejection. "Are you wondering what it'll be like once the fawn is born? I know for a fact I'm not his only doe he took this rut so he won't be here often, plus I think he worked things out with his mate, they were having some problems but last I remember I think they fixed everything, so he'd be wanting to spend more time with her than us I assume." Amelia thought about it, having brought up Moki and the fact that he had a mate made her wonder. What was Amelia to Vridd? "Or are you wondering what he'll think of us...er...you?" Calling them an 'us' seemed like a stretch when she was not even sure what they were.

Vridd
Vridd wasn’t quite sure what she had meant. After all, although she thought of herself and Amelia as a couple, she wasn’t sure how far that extended. Moki was the biological father of Amelia’s child and Amelia’s friend. Did that give him some special position over Vridd, despite the fact that they weren’t really in a romantic relationship? “I don’t really care too much what he thinks of us. His opinion… I do not know him, and though i do think of him pleasantly because of what he did to protect you I cannot… allow his opinion to affect any aspect of our relationship.” She stated, figuring out the little details even as she spoke. “Though I do wonder, as I always have, how do you think of him? I know that he is your friend. I merely wonder… if there is a chance I might lose you to him.” she spoke softly as if hoping Amelia wouldn’t hear. indeed, she had carried that fear with her for quite a while, allowing it to hover over her mind.

Amelia
She pulled away slightly, just enough to give her an odd look. "There is no way you will ever lose me to anyone. I love you and there is no place I'd rather be than by your side," Amelia found herself looking away, having gotten more heartfelt and passionate in confessing her love for Vridd and the fact that she never wanted them to separate than she had meant. Emotions were still odd, scary things.
"Moki is just a friend. A friend I turned to because I felt utterly alone and thought a fawn would give me a purpose in life. Now you are my purpose, though you and a little fawn will give me all the more purpose to keep living day after day. He is just a friend but you are the love of my life that I want to raise my fawn with. You are my...." Amelia nearly called Vridd her mate while rambling and she started turning pink. "You are my...my lovely doe," she fumbled awkwardly with the words as she tried to cover up what she had almost said. No telling how Vridd would react to being officially tied down to Amelia as her mate.

Vridd
Vridd kept her eyes averted until the other spoke rather strongly about never leaving her. Vridd had always been timid and really relationships were hardly an exception. Indeed, they caused her more stress than nearly anything else in her life, though when she was actually with Amelia she felt more content with her lot than anything else. She could have been without legs, and yet if her love was still there with her then she felt she would be content.
She smiled, her head carefully weaving under Amelia’s as she tried to hold all the happiness she had in her heart. of course, she failed and it poured over the edge and ran through her veins, lighting her aflame with a passion she was sure could never be measured by anything else. “My only regret… my only regret is that we cannot be mated properly. That we cannot have a child all on our own.” she said, smiling at the other. “But then I suppose… I suppose if we are mates, then there’s nothing proper about it. Many don’t even consider the proper way to do it and here I am, agonizing over not having the ‘proper’ parts.” she said, a soft laugh flattening her ears as she tramped the dirt down with one worried hoof.

Amelia
"Well I'd like to consider this fawn," she motioned to her bulging stomach before nuzzling the other doe and finishing her sentence by whispering in her ear, "ours." There was nothing more than she wanted than to have her lovely Vridd and the fawn, yet was unsure if she could truly have them both once the fawn was born and Vridd realized how much she'd probably have to help if she wanted to stick around. It'd break Amelia's heart if Vridd left her for any reason. Could they really be the happy family she dreamed of?
"Who cares what others consider proper? Granted it'd be nice to really have a fawn with you, but sadly it can't happen unless there is some surrogate stag. I find it adorable and cute when you agonize over things the way you do," she whispered only to remember she strayed off the point of her talking. What others thought was proper and right.
"I don't care about what anyone but you and Moki think. He is my friend so I care about his opinions, but you are the love of my life and I not only care about what you think and say, but I hang on to your every word. My heart belongs to you and you alone, so I don't give a sapsucking snail about what anyone thinks about us unless you feel the need for their good graces." By now Amelia was slightly out of breath from all the talking as well as standing and swaying so much with her added load, but it was all worth it to confess such an undying love for Vridd. She wanted to get the point across that she would never leave and never stop loving her.

Vridd
The dark doe listened quietly, her ears forwards as though to catch the words pouring from her mouth from the wholesome depths of her weary soul. Indeed there were few things that she wanted more than to hear her other say these warm words to her, the meaning so clearly displayed that it made her feel taller and stronger in their presence. Some small, withered piece of her rejected the warm glow, shrieking and unheard on how she ought not be bathing in such a bright light. How, if she were to stay she might begin to think that some small part of her was worth the ever-present affection. But that withered, sad thing that spoke in the voice of her aunt went on being withered and sad, hiding in the last piece of darkness that might have shadowed Vridd’s mind at one time but was now so weak that it could hardly keep itself against the barrage of happy thoughts.
“I would be honored beyond anything to be yours as you are mine, and for this fawn to be of our minds rather than our blood.” she stepped forwards a bit as though she wished to be covered in the other, completely and wholly embraced in the very essence of light. She felt a smile pull at her features, slowly making them into something… ordinary. No longer was it such a spectacle for her to smile easily and freely. indeed, she was truly happy.
“I wish… I wish to thank you.” she said suddenly, her head raising and her expression becoming rather somber. “For you have made me into not so wretched a creature as I had been, in the company only of silent flowers and dumb birds. You have helped me… to think of myself as myself rather than something less. I owe you in a way that cannot really be repaid, though I promise you I feel more love than obligation. I will stay with you until our bodies become stone and even then I should stand with you. For, with you, I become so much more than i could have been. I want to be that forever.” she said softly, her boldness seeming to fade a bit as she ran out of words.

Amelia
Amelia couldn't help but grin at her beloved Vridd's words until she mentioned having to thank her. While she said she felt more love that obligation the obligation seemed to still be there, and Amelia didn't like the thought of Vridd possibly owing her or needing to thank her for something as simple as the affection and kindness she had given the darker doe. "No need to thank me love, I didn't do a thing other than admit my love for you...may I ask you something that could possibly be out of line?" her voice came out rather quiet at the end than she had meant for it to, but she still wanted to ask the question that wasn't going to be as bad as she had made it sound like it would be. It involved love.
Amelia thought about her companion's words again and whispered almost silently, "even after our bodies have turned to stone I promise I shall continue to love you with as much passion as I do in this very moment, if not more. There is no force that could ever tear me away from you for as long as you hold my heart, and you will always hold it for I never want to take it back." Even now the passionate love the lighter doe felt for her counter part was practically pouring from her voice, though she was almost completely unaware of how head over heels she sounded. Maybe the doe that not long ago had been a cold and heartless and emotionless creature was more of a romantic nerd than anyone had thought to assume. Romance was a good thing to her, even if the emotions it flooded it her with were still being adjusted to after shoving so many emotions away for so long.
"Let me just say I love you."

Vridd
Vridd’s dish-like ears raised at the question, giving permission with her interest at the inquiry. She was silent and still as the other seemed to collect herself, murmuring words she had to strain to catch and looking as though she were contemplating something long and hard. However, she felt no dread at any sort of proposition. She was sure that, no matter what the other had in mind for her she would be able to handle it with a grace that seemed to flow from the other like a steady river. That grace gave her strength, and as she waited she knew that her hope would be sufficient. That she would be able to withstand whatever might come her way. When Amelia finally did let her wishes be known, Vridd blinked, stupefied for a moment or two as she struggled to recall the words that might help the other not to feel so… like she had to ask.
“Amelia.” she said, so gently that her words might have been a leaf in the strongest of gales. “You could shout it to the blackwoods and climb upon hills and shout it or go straight to the king and proclaim such a thing and i would not be ashamed. For if you can say that, then I can say it too.” she said, a smile widening her face and taking over her features. She was nearly overcome with an intense and furious glee.
“I love you. So much. To deny your ability to verbally reassure me would be to wound me fatally.” she said, a little giggle at the end of her phrase showing just how her utter joy was leaking through her features and pooling below her like a lake over a summer spring.
This was supposed to be for Valentine's Day...Sorry I took so long to finally upload this guys, we didn't finish until recently due to life being, well, life.
